Frequently Asked Questions

Pet Health

1. Why is there taurine in the i26 COMPANION cat product, but not in the i26 COMPANION dog product?

Cats are carnivores and need meat to survive. Their biochemical and nutritional needs are therefore different than that of dogs (which are omnivores, meaning they can survive on plants as well as meat). Taurine is essential for cats, yet they cannot manufacture it on their own. Therefore supplemental taurine has to be added to the cat's diet, but does not have to be added to most dogs' diets.

2. Were any animals used in the testing of i26 COMPANION?

i26 COMPANION was tested by a focus group of pet owners to get their and their pets' responses to i26 COMPANION in terms of taste and experiences. Numerous stories of older pets acting like kittens and puppies again, and dogs "begging" for an i26 COMPANION "treat" convinced us that we had an excellent opportunity to change pets' quality of life.
